2011 was a busy year for me, it started with shooting the Barrie Colts 2010-2011 season, covering a variety of events, and finally landing a full-time photography job. These are some of my favorite shots of the past year. My personal favorite photos from the year are the two Halloween shots of the little pirate and unicorn. Also the sandwich which came from an assignment to shoot 5 different sandwich places, which meant free lunch for a week, awesome.

The Saint Joan of Arc Knights travelled to Grove Street to face off against the Barrie North Vikings in Senior Boys Football. North was coming off a winless season last year and was in tough against JOA and their unconventional (for highschool football) West coast offence. The Vikings were able to win on a last minute punt through the endzone resulting in a single point which gave them a 16-15 victory over the Knights.

Highschool football season kicks off this week, and one of the first games featured the Barrie Central Phoenix versus the Innisdale Invaders. In a game played in changing weather conditions the Invaders managed to force overtime after a late score that tied the game 14-14.

I photographed Public Works Day for The Town of Blue Mountains. The event allows students from the local schools to come by and check out some of the machinery, and learn how the town's Works Department, Police, Fire, and Ambulance services work. Nothing much photowise. This photo shows a student with Autism checking out the bristles on the street sweeper. This was encouraged by his teacher supervisor as part of his touch therapy.

The Bear Creek Kodiaks Senior Girls rugby team rebounded after a loss yesterday to Central by trouncing the North Vikings 37-10, in the first game of a double header. The second game featured the North Vikings Senior Boys team taking on Holy Trinity in a one-sided match that ended in a 41-0 victory for North.

The highschool rugby season finally kicked off on Thurs after being delayed almost two weeks because of all the rain. The Barrie Central Phoenix hoping to repeat as Ontario Champions faced off against the Bear Creek Kodiaks in a triple header at Red Storey field. The Senior Boys dominated their match with Central shutting out Bear Creek 36-0. The Junior Boys game was a more even match with Central narrowly winning 12-11. The Senior Girls game was once again dominated by powerhouse Central cruising to an easy 29-0 victory over Bear Creek.
