Gull Lake Thunder

The Tim Hortons Gravehurst Powerboat Races were held on June 22 and 23. This is the third year for the race which was named the top race of the season the previous two years. the race featured over 100 racers competing in a variety of racing categories including hydroplanes, seafleas, drag boats and inflatables.

Zombie Run

Kira Cooper and Carlie Stransky run from a zombie to promote the first ever Zombie Run in Muskoka. The Zombie Run will be held at Arrowhead Provincial Park in Huntsville on Oct. 19.

Footgolf

Muskoka Highlands Golf Course in Bracebridge has created the first Footgolf course in the country. The sport is a combination of soccer and golf where players kick a soccer ball into a cup in the fewest shots. The sport is growing in popularity and recently held it's first world championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Bathtub Boating

Kate Coutts, tests out her bathtub racer on the river in Hunstville for the upcoming Bathtub Derby. The race will feature over 30 racers making their way through a variety of obstacles on the water.

Outdoor Cooking With Chef Kevin McKenna

Chef Kevin McKenna, demonstrates cooking fish outdoors on an open fire using all local ingredients. The recipe called for fresh caught pickerel from Lake Muskoka, wrapped in wild leeks picked earlier that day. The salad consisted of locally succulents and was garnished with a maple syrup dressing that McKenna made from the two maple trees on his property.

June 8 2013 Tony Clement, MP for Parry Sound-Muskoka shows his support for The Sheepdogs during their show in Huntsville as part of the music festival for the Band on the Run Huntsville Half Marathon.

The Sheepdogs Rock River Mill Park

June 8 2013 Juno award winning rockers The Sheepdogs headlined the music festival for the Band on the Run Huntsville Half Marathon. The Sheepdogs performed to over 1,700 people at a packed River Mill Park in downtown Huntsville.

Band On The Run

June 8 2013 The Band on the Run Huntsville Half Marathon combines running with an afternoon music festival at River Mill Park. The Half Marathon takes runners from the park up to Arrowhead Provincial Park and back.

Running With Rutherford

June 7 2013 Special Olympian Daniel Rutherford, from Bracebridge, trains at the Sportsplex in Bracebridge as he prepares for the Ontario Special Olympic Games being held in Toronto. Rutherford competes in shot put and the 100m and 200m races.

A Novel Portrait

Nipissing's New Nurses

Anne Handley, a registered nurse at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, graduated from Nipissing University in 2010 in North Bay. Nipissing recently announced a new Bachelor of Arts Nursing program for it's campus in Bracebridge. The popular program already has over 70 applicants.

A man speaks to an OPP diver after his SUV rolled into the river while he was attempting to launch a kayak. The truck floated down the Muskoka River before sinking in front of the Riverside Inn in Bracebridge. Divers were able to locate the sunken SUV.

To-Morrow's Cure

4 year old Kaitie Morrow has never had her haircut and will be getting her first cut on her 5th birthday. She will be donating her cut hair to an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients. Kaitie's grandmother passed away one year ago after a 25 year battle with multiple cancers.

Paul Miller is a water colour painter from Huntsville who was diagnosed with autism as a child. Now 48 years old Miller uses his painting to help him focus.
